7 Ιαν 2017 · The DVD behaves correctly on the DVD player connected to our TV, but on the PC it just won't go. I have even tried my daughters computer (also Win 10 and VLC 2.2.4) but with exactly the same result - only the first episode will play no matter what I choose from the menu items or what other player buttons I click.
12 Οκτ 2018 · Well, I've got a dedicated DVD player connected to my TV so I would never normally use vlc to playback DVDs on my laptop, but tonight I did in order to determine whether or not the movie would stop playing in the middle of the disc like you say it does on your machine. But it played right through to the end without any problem.

18 Αυγ 2009 · Like Jean-Baptiste Kempf suggested removing the DVD menus (open media -> select box no DVD menus) did the trick at least for me. The DVD that I tried to play didn't have menu and VLC didn't understand this automatically. Funny, first time when Windows Media Player works and VLC doesn't!
15 Ιαν 2014 · VLC media player just stopped playing DVDs for me. I don't remember if it coincided with installing the latest version or not, unfortunately. I've tried 5 different DVDs and it's been the same for all of them.
6 Δεκ 2004 · How can I set VLC as defauly player for DVD in Windows XP Pro SP1? Currently I have XP set to not start any application when a dvd is inserted but I would like this to be VLC. Or if that is not possible to let VLC start when doubleclicking a DVD file. Thanks for any info! Martijn
16 Ιουν 2008 · Sorry to say I have been experiencing this problem, too. It's also present in the new builds (I'm using 0.94 currently). Media Player Classic plays DVD's as expected. As per Any86's observations - selecting DVD play without Menu option seems to work without the stutter problem manifesting. Bumping up the buffer from 300ms has no effect.
18 Ιουν 2008 · VLC Player (I have installed the newest 0.8.6h version) can play the DVD's but only by manualy selecting 'open disc' and then open 'DVD', but it can't show the menu's. Is this a bug in the program? Since other DVD player software can show it. The burner makes the following disc structure on a DVD_VR disc VIDEO_RM VIDEO_TS
21 Νοε 2008 · I prefer not to start using up the Region change options of that drive and have tried hooking up an external LG Super Multi DVD Rewriter (Drive F) to a USB port. The problem I'm running into is that even though I put a Region 2 in the LG drive and specify Drive F (the external optical drive) the DVD won't play.
Then open up "My Computer", right-click on the DVD drive that you want to set the auto-playback for, and select "Properties". Go to the "Autoplay" tab and, from the drop-down box, select "DVD movie". Make sure the "Select an action to perform:" option is selected, and scroll down to select "Play DVD movie using VideoLAN VLC media player".
