13 Ιουν 2024 · Keloids are dense, thick nodules (solid, raised bumps that are firm to the touch) or plaques (raised or bumpy areas larger than a thumbnail) typically found at areas of previously injured skin (such as burns, cuts, and piercings), or they may arise spontaneously on healthy skin.
Ear keloids are firm, rubbery, fibrous nodules that form on the ear after minor trauma, most commonly after ear piercing. They can occur in earlobes as well as in the skin and cartilage higher on the ear.
When skin is injured, scar tissue usually forms over the wound to help protect and heal it, but an excess or overgrowth of scar tissue can trigger the growth of a keloid. Keloids can appear anywhere on the body, even beyond the injury site. They are most common on the chest, shoulders, earlobes, and cheeks.

22 Αυγ 2022 · Ear keloids are a type of scar tissue that develops after an injury to your ear, especially ear piercings. Not everyone will develop an ear keloid after an injury. A keloid on your ear usually doesn’t hurt, but it may itch or feel uncomfortable, and you may feel self-conscious about it.
Keloids are common on the ear lobes, neck, hands, or forearms, and usually occur after an injury or infection. Occasionally they occur spontaneously, especially on the mid-chest area. Keloids often follow surgery, cuts, scrapes, or ear-piercing.
