For purposes of this Guideline, ear keloid lesions are divided into 4 diferent categories according to their size. Papular ear keloids: the size of the keloid papules is a few millimeters to one centimeter. Nodular/tumoral ear keloids: lesions measuring one centimeter in diameter or more.
Ear keloids are firm, rubbery, fibrous nodules that form on the ear after minor trauma, most commonly after ear piercing. They can occur in earlobes as well as in the skin and cartilage higher on the ear.
