By 1960, the influence of students, Baptist leaders, and local pastors led to the Missouri Baptist Convention’s decision to establish a Baptist college in St. Louis. The journey officially began in 1964 with the first meeting of the board of trustees, followed by the groundbreaking of the original 81-acre campus site in 1967.
