29 Δεκ 2016 · I've been considering a new high volume splitter, specifically a box wedge design. I'd really like to take possession this year and Timberwolf has both a used Alpha 5 and Alpha 6 available for sale. Easonmade is made to order and not sure the lead time. There's tons of videos of the Easonmade splitters and not as much of the Timberwolf Alpha's.
20 Φεβ 2020 · The Eastomades look like great, well built machines, sounds like the owner is a great guy. But there is no comparison between the machines. You control the size of each piece, there is little to no trash. Every issue that was brought up in the above posts is solvable with the power split.
Eastonmade seems to me to be a better built machine. not many manufacturers show their splitters splitting gum on an 8 way wedge, or knotty beech thru a 12 way wedge. plus changing their wedges looks easy.
The Wolfe Ridge and Eastonmade are pretty comparable IMO. As you noted they are both double to triple the price of a Super Split. I can’t speak to either one as far as personal experience, but the Super Split has been fantastic for me.
Emasonmade looks to have a better work position and maybe a better wedge. Timberwolf is within driving distance and has a low hour used machine available. Given the price and availability, the Alpha is in the lead.
23 Ιαν 2016 · The SS really shines on straighter-grained wood (forest wood), but still does really well on the gnarlier stuff too. There's a learning curve using it, but it's something to at least consider when looking at wood splitters.
12 Δεκ 2016 · His splitters prices are better than Timberwolf and the machines appear to be built just as well, if not better. The cycle time on the big machine ( the 12-22) is better than a comparable TW5 or TW6. And at a much cheaper price too boot.
