23 Οκτ 2024 · The Governing Council of the ECB sets the key interest rates for the euro area. These are the interest rates on the main refinancing operations, the deposit facility and the marginal lending facility.
Euro area yield curves. A yield curve is a representation of the relationship between market remuneration rates and the remaining time to maturity of debt securities. A yield curve can also be described as the term structure of interest rates. The ECB publishes several yield curves, as shown below.

Euro Area Interest Rate. The ECB lowered its three key interest rates by 25 bps in October 2024, as expected, following similar moves in September and June. The deposit facility, main refinancing operations, and marginal lending facility rates will now be 3.25%, 3.40%, and 3.65%, respectively.
