Echo & the Bunnymen are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch , guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson . By 1980, Pete de Freitas joined as the band's drummer.
In October 1978, McCulloch founded Echo & the Bunnymen with Will Sergeant ( lead guitar), Les Pattinson (bass), and a drum machine (allegedly named Echo), making their live debut at Eric's in November that year. [3] In October 1979, the Bunnymen exchanged the drum machine for Pete de Freitas on drums.
Leslie Thomas Pattinson (born 18 April 1958 [1] in Ormskirk, Lancashire) is an English musician, best known for his work as the bassist and co-writer of the Liverpool-based band Echo & the Bunnymen, [1] along with vocalist Ian McCulloch and guitarist Will Sergeant.
Echo & the Bunnymen is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Echo & the Bunnymen, their last with drummer Pete de Freitas, who died in 1989 in a motorcycle accident, aged 27.
