A social variation model, in contrast, allows for investigation of the differences and discrepancies between school and outside-school learning environments and seeks to understand how different forms of participation come, as a result of education, to be unequally valued.
2 Φεβ 2023 · In answering this research question, I outline four major approaches to shaping educational expectations and show how these approaches link to social class: the confident (focused and unconcerned), the determined (focused and risk aware), the explorative (undecided and unconcerned), and the anxious (the undecided and concerned).
The articles in this volume show how inequalities pertaining to social class are of local, national, international and indeed global interest and importance. In terms of the specific United Kingdom (UK) context, social class constitutes a key focus across educational sectors, as played out
