1 Ιαν 2023 · The test data available provide proof of tyre failures throughout the 128–152 km/h rated speed (80–95 mph) with 90–95% due to internal amplitude failures throughout the tyre, 2–10% due to friction here among tyre as well as the pavement, and 1.5–3.5% due of air resistance.
thermoRIDE is a physical-analytical tire model, employable to study and understand all the phenomena concerning the tire during its interaction with both the external environment and the inner wheel chamber (inner air, rim, brakes, vehicle geometry, etc), as illustrated in Figure 1. Figure 1. thermoRIDE model scheme.
The effect of tire-road friction force on vehicle performance and stability and on the perfor-mance of traction and ABS controllers is undeniable [15−19]. Different studies have developed and used different algorithms to estimate the tire-road friction.
This study uses this extension to the Magic formula and analyzes the influence of the tire temperature and velocity on the vehicle handling response. A single-track vehicle model is employed.
1 Μαρ 2012 · Potential actions to reduce friction in passenger cars include the use of advanced coatings and surface texturing technology on engine and transmission components, new low-viscosity and low-shear lubricants and additives, and tire designs that reduce rolling friction. Highlights.
Affecting by the texture of the road surface, speed, load, temperature, and other factors, the tire-road friction coefficient reflects the friction limit between the tire and the road surface. Many researchers have studied the rubber friction mechanism by experi-ments and theoretical modeling.
