Made with a quick homemade pastry dough and filled with a vanilla infused custard, they are a fancy treat that takes minimal effort to prepare!
Add the butter and pulse until the mixture becomes sandy in texture. Whisk the eggs and vinegar together and pulse to combine with the flour mixture. Add the ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, as needed until the dough comes together.
Whisk the eggs with the cream, ground black pepper and a pinch of paprika and pour into the pastry cases. Dot the remaining butter over the top. Bake for 35-45 minutes until golden brown. Take out of the ramekins and serve.
