9 Αυγ 2024 · Use this EKG interpretation cheat sheet that summarizes all heart arrhythmias in an easy-to-understand fashion. One of the most useful and commonly used diagnostic tools is electrocardiography (EKG) which measures the heart’s electrical activity as waveforms.
Sinus rhythm (which is the normal rhythm) has the following characteristics: (1) heart rate 50–100 beats per minute; (2) P-wave precedes every QRS complex; (3) the P-wave is positive in lead II and (4) the PR interval is constant.
23 Αυγ 2024 · Being able to read an EKG or ECG is an important skill for nurses. But looking at a 12-lead EKG/ECG can put your own heart into a lethal rhythm. Nurses are usually the first ones to read that “hot off the press” EKG tracing.
Table 1. Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion Scale. There is a strong correlation between a person’s perceived exertion rating times 10 and the actual heart rate during exercise; so a person’s exertion rating provides an estimate of the actual heart rate.
This animated video complements our cheat sheet with EKG strips by providing a visual and auditory learning experience. Learn about each rhythm, watch demonstrations, and listen to expert explanations to solidify your understanding.
The ECG must always be interpreted systematically. Failure to perform systematic interpretation may actually be detrimental. We have therefore compiled a pocket guide with a universal interpretation algorithm. These 22 pages includes all you need to perform methodological ECG interpretation.
INTRODUCTION. Learning Objectives. Describe cardiac anatomy and physiology. Apply leads for electrocardiograms (ECGs) and cardiac monitoring. Identify basic cardiac rhythms. Outline nursing interventions in response to the identified cardiac rhythm.
