1 Σεπ 2015 · Pulse wave velocity (AoPWV) in the aorta correlates with aortic and coronary elasticity. In this work, we present a neural network approach for estimating AoPWV.
21 Φεβ 2023 · Measuring and understanding the mechanical properties of blood clots can provide insights into disease progression and the effectiveness of potential treatments.
1 Μαρ 2021 · During the last 50 years, novel biomaterials and tissue engineering techniques have been investigated to produce alternative vascular substitutes that recapitulate the unique elastic mechanical features of blood vessels.
1 Μαρ 2021 · A) The blood vessel wall is composed of three main layers: tunica intima, tunica media, and tunica adventitia. Elastic membranes are found in their interfaces.
Blood clots perform an essential mechanical task, yet the mechanical behavior of fibrin fibers, which form the structural framework of a clot, is largely unknown. By using combined atomic force‐fluorescence microscopy, we determined the elastic limit and extensibility of individual fibers.
The elasticity of thrombi is closely related to its age. Blood was collected from pigs and anticoagulated using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). Coagulation was initiated using calcium ions. Supersonic shear wave imaging was used to generate shear waves using 100 ms tone bursts of 8 MHz.
25 Απρ 2008 · At large strains, clot stiffness increases, which is uncommon and may be important physiologically—especially under the high stresses of arterial blood flow—if it affects clot strength. Theoretical work is beginning to shed light on the molecular basis for this unusual behavior .
