This guideline is intended to assist clinicians and patients through the non-operative course of care for Medial and Lateral Epicondylitis/Epicondylalgia. This protocol is time based (dependent upon tissue healing) as well as criterion based (dependent upon patient tolerance).
Common Signs and Symptoms • Slightly swollen, warm, and tender bump of the inner elbow • Pain with activity, especially bending the wrist against force (curls, lifting, throwing) or following an extended period of vigorous exercise in an adolescent • In more severe cases, pain during less vigorous activity • Inability to throw at full speed
27 Μαρ 2023 · Medial epicondyle apophysitis (MEA), also known as little league elbow, is an overuse injury prevalent among adolescent athletes whose sport involves repetitive overhand throwing, racket use, or other overhead arm motions.
The exercise plans shown here are designed to be used as a guide and a point of reference; they are not exhaustive and can be modified and progressed under the supervision of your physiotherapist.
For the following exercises, you will need elastic exercise material, such as surgical tubing or Thera-Band. Sit leaning forward with your legs slightly spread. Then place your affected forearm on your thigh with your hand and wrist in front of your knee.
With elbow held firmly by side or with the forearm resting on a table, slowly let hammer lower right to left then back. Keep wrist in a straight position throughout motion.
