Unlike Classic, which actually had a lot of unknowns, players solved TBC. And it was all documented on the forums of a guild called Elitist Jerks. Below is a link to the endgame raiding thread for each class. Each of these posts comes from 2007 and was updated throughout the expansion.

Hooligan syndicate took a lot of the goons they were beating early lvl 60 content with from goon squad and goons didn't like it. I was doing lbrs for the onyxia key with a couple when they renamed themselves as Elitist Jerks, it was a funny troll. We had a chat channel we all shared for pugging.

Short answer: nazi leadership. I was in goon squad when ej splintered and poached from us but I stayed on good terms and did minor pug raids with them through out vanilla. Their number 1 raid team was full of jerks (surprise) and that attitude leaked through to moderation of the forums and the way the community was expected to post and theory ...
