Elk Cove is a meadow in the Mount Hood Wilderness on the north side of Mount Hood in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is a popular backpacking area along the Timberline Trail.
Elk Cove is a large, alpine basin on the north side of Mount Hood. The basin was formed by a lobe of the spectacular Coe Glacier that once pushed through the valley, but disappeared as the glacier retreated.
The first vineyard and winery in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Elk Cove is known for estate grown Pinot Noir & cool climate white wines.
Named for the herd of Roosevelt Elk that roam the nearby Coast Range Mountains, Elk Cove is one of Oregon's historic vineyards and was first planted in 1974 by Pat and Joe Campbell.

15 Οκτ 2024 · Named for the herd that roams the nearby hills, Elk Cove Vineyards was founded in 1974 and was the first vineyard and winery in what is now the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Tucked into the foothills of the Coast Range Mountains, the tasting room has spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards.
