Patients with liver metastasis at presentation, or liver metastasis as the subsequent metastatic site of progressive disease were excluded. Forty-six patients were identified. Median time to liver recurrence was 12 months, with 91.3 % of recurrences detected within 3 years.

21 Οκτ 2024 · This study aims to examine cases identified with endometrial polyp and carcinoma originating from polyps in patients presenting with gynaecological problems, and to highlight the significance of risk factors contributing to malignancy.
Excision of polyps smaller than 2 cm in asymptomatic postmenopausal patients has no impact on cost-effectiveness or survival (level B). Removal of asymptomatic polyps in premenopausal women should be considered in patients with risk factors for endometrial cancer (level B).
Conclusion. Symptomatic vaginal bleeding and postmenopausal status in women with endometrial polyps increased the risk of malignancy. This finding could be an useful evidence to select patients who need to undergo hysteroscopic resection of endometrial polyps and women to whom, instead, an expectant management can be offer.
