16 Οκτ 2013 · It's easier to just swap the whole pump/separator plate assembly. Remove all the bolts inside the bell housing, and the pump will drop out of the bell housing. I'll tell you right now, it's going to be a PITA to change that rear adapter plate with the engine in the truck.
27 Μαΐ 2009 · When I took a look under my truck I noticed the rear adapter housing (part between allison and transfer case) was cracked. I just read on this site that an off balanced drive shaft or bad u joints can cause this to crack.
Gravity holds things in place. The root cause of this is usually a bad u-joint. This adapter is more than just an adapter. It hold the low reverse clutch piston. Finally, if this housing is cracked, carefully inspect the bell housing.
11 Απρ 2010 · If the problem is casting of the bellhousing then dmage will start at the source of torq, the engine then work its way back to the drive line taking out a weak or faulty casting of the bellhouse and or adaptor plate.
17 Δεκ 2017 · If you have a crack in the flex plate, or something loose/broken inside the torque converter, it could shatter at any time, leaving you broke down. At the very least, I'd take it to a transmission shop and get their diagnosis.
27 Ιαν 2020 · Is it possible to replace the engine backing plate on a 2006 LBZ without pulling the motor? The few videos I found the motor was already out. I'm hoping it can be done in place.
23 Μαΐ 2022 · I always put the bead of sealant on the plate. Also make sure to put new o-rings in font the water ports. I would leave the cooler elbow off or install loosely on the plate so your not fighting that. You want to be able to go on pretty straight to get the best seal with sealant.
