This is a list of museums in Columbus, Ohio and non-profit and university art galleries. The city's first museum was the Walcutt Museum, opened July 1851. At its opening, the museum had about six wax figures and a few paintings.

Columbus in Historic Photographs was the first digital collection embarked upon at Columbus Metropolitan Library. The collection includes over 20,000 images of people and places showcasing the rich history of Ohio's capital city held by the Local History and Genealogy Division.
Museums and History in Columbus. At the heart of Ohio, Columbus was named the state capital in 1812, following previously established capitals in Zanesville and Chillicothe (twice). The Ohio Statehouse, completed in 1861, is one of the oldest working statehouses in the country and offers daily tours as well as an on-site museum.
