  4. 6 Ιαν 2017 · My ER Shaw barrel isn't any better than a "run of the mill" factory barrel. In fact it shoot worse than some factory barreled rifles that I own. If 800+ yards is what you plan to do go with a better quality barrel. For a good accurate barrel that is reasonably priced give X-Caliber barrels a look.

  5. 8 Μαρ 2017 · Possible past demons aside, I've never had a "bad" barrel from them; including the current barrel. So lets set rules out first, so there is no emotional confusion. 1) "Match grade". The going rate for a barrel from the "Names" in match barrels all want $400+ for a barrel, Shaw is about $250 +/-.

  6. 28 Νοε 2020 · My Shaw barrel in 6.5 CM was a copper mine. It shot terrific when clean, but accuracy went south as it coppered up, and it did that very quickly. They make a decent hunting rifle, but not so much if shooting groups in targets. Use it for what it was designed for and you'll be quite satisfied.

  7. 30 Σεπ 2017 · What you're looking for is to verify that the bullet is still going 1350 fps or faster at the target distance, and has a SG of 1.5 or better ( see Berger twist rate calculator) so that you're getting the benefit of your bullets maximum B.C. (ballistic coefficient).
