  1. 8 Σεπ 2018 · Bottom line, for $250, this barrel is a major upgrade over stock (at least for me) and for the cost, puts me well within precision needed for long range practice on the cheap. I put rounds down range at 215yds on a 3" target, hitting 8 of 10 at that range.

  2. 13 Σεπ 2018 · Displacement hardens the bore, which makes it more durable. As seen in benchrest records, both types of rifling can produce great accuracy. Shaw barrels are mostly button-rifled. 3.

  3. 21 Ιουν 2017 · Many barrels with common over bore used by LR shooters have 1000-1500 rounds life. BR tradition would have thorough cleaning every 10-20 rounds and then needing 1-3 foulers IMO cut down on cleaning till it actually meaningfully effects accuracy.

  4. 10 Ιαν 2023 · What kind of accuracy has been gotten out of them? They only do 1 in 8,10 or 12 twists in a 308 Cal. Will the 1 in 8 work for 208 to 240 grainers, or will there be some problems with the twist?

  5. 8 Μαρ 2017 · I've had several E.R. Shaw barrels starting back about 15 years, and most recently about a year ago. I did a review on the latest one, which had a "tight spot"; and several posts with it. Possible past demons aside, I've never had a "bad" barrel from them; including the current barrel.

  6. 23 Οκτ 2010 · #1. Has anyone here had any experience with these barrels, I would like to know if the quality is good and what to expect as far as accuracy. I thought a 23' 223 barrel in stainless with Helicle fluting and a one in eight twist on a sporter contour might make for a nice walking around varminter/predator rifle on my 700 action. ollie. 7. 28 Νοε 2020 · My Shaw barrel in 6.5 CM was a copper mine. It shot terrific when clean, but accuracy went south as it coppered up, and it did that very quickly. They make a decent hunting rifle, but not so much if shooting groups in targets. Use it for what it was designed for and you'll be quite satisfied.
