20 Νοε 2008 · Wondered how good ER Shaw barrels were. What kind of accuracy has been gotten out of them. Notice that they only do 1 in 8,10 or 12 twist in a 308 Cal. Will the 1 in 8 work for 208 to 240 grainers or is there gonna be some problems with the twist????

21 Ιουν 2017 · Many barrels with common over bore used by LR shooters have 1000-1500 rounds life. BR tradition would have thorough cleaning every 10-20 rounds and then needing 1-3 foulers IMO cut down on cleaning till it actually meaningfully effects accuracy.
2 Απρ 2010 · I build accuracy rifles as a hobby (after gunsmithing for real for several years), and the ER Shaw barrel is a good barrel. As was said, not match quality, not match price. But so much of match accuracy has to do with the shooter, so someone please tell me where I can get a drop-in kit for that problem.
6 Ιαν 2017 · My ER Shaw barrel isn't any better than a "run of the mill" factory barrel. In fact it shoot worse than some factory barreled rifles that I own. If 800+ yards is what you plan to do go with a better quality barrel. For a good accurate barrel that is reasonably priced give X-Caliber barrels a look.
23 Οκτ 2010 · For what its worth I have a couple Shaw barrels, a 6.5X55 A.I. (1-9 T)and 6mm-284 (1-12 T). both will print sub 1/4" groups at 100 yards. As with all barrels they need to be seasoned properly and yes they will shoot.
