8 Σεπ 2018 · And yes, a longer barrel, like 22 inches or more, would certainly help keep the bullets velocity down and maintain accuracy. From all the data I've read, barrel lengths from 16-18 in is the "sweet spot" for 22LR ammo.
15 Ιουν 2009 · Some 10/22 receivers have a hump that needs to be sanded down. Or you might have barrel droop. Sometimes a shim in one of the rings will get you on target without too much scope adjustment. At least you've got accuracy--but scopes are at their best when as close to 0 adjustment as possible.

5 Αυγ 2013 · I put on a ER Shaw factory contour barrel (Barrel, .22 LR, 18", Blued, Factory Contour, E.R. Shaw, New Gun Parts | 1289690 | Numrich Gun Parts) in hopes of a bit more accuracy out of my gun (10/22 carbine) and found that I was getting some strange grouping.
21 Ιουν 2017 · Many barrels with common over bore used by LR shooters have 1000-1500 rounds life. BR tradition would have thorough cleaning every 10-20 rounds and then needing 1-3 foulers IMO cut down on cleaning till it actually meaningfully effects accuracy.
28 Νοε 2020 · My Shaw barrel in 6.5 CM was a copper mine. It shot terrific when clean, but accuracy went south as it coppered up, and it did that very quickly. They make a decent hunting rifle, but not so much if shooting groups in targets. Use it for what it was designed for and you'll be quite satisfied.
