27 Σεπ 2021 · The ideal candidate for an ablative erbium laser skin resurfacing has mild to moderate sun damage, fine lines and/or wrinkles, skin laxity (especially of the lower eyelids), changes in skin texture and tone, or some types of precancerous skin lesions.
Most patients undergo light or medium depth Erbium-YAG laser skin resurfacing with a dual-mode Erbium- YAG laser (Sciton®) at the end of the procedure. Lateral canthopexy and direct excision of excess skin via a subciliary incision are performed as needed to address eyelid laxity and skin redundancy.
29 Απρ 2009 · Newer fractional Erbium ablative laser resurfacing is safer for the eyelid and recovery is quicker. See an example of transconjunctival arcus release and fat grafting for under eye hollows, with fractional resurfacing on lower eyelid to reduce crepiness.
Erbium and carbon dioxide are two common types of resurfacing lasers. Erbium lasers tend to be milder and may require more treatment sessions. Both can be performed in a fractional manner, which allows for small spaces of skin to be untouched during the treatment.
