2 Μαρ 2023 · This week it stopped working giving me the error 400: invalid_request. You can't sign to this app because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth policy for keeping apps secure. I have multiple email accounts running through mac mail and its very difficult to jump to web based email for one account.
3 Νοε 2023 · “Auth 2.0 Error 400” occurs on older Macs due to outdated security compliance in the Apple Mail app. To fix the error you’ll need to enable 2-Step Verification and generate an App Password.
6 Φεβ 2024 · I contacted Apple support and did the following: Safari Settings > Privacy - uncheck "Prevent cross-site tracking" and "Hide IP address from tracker". System Settings > Desktop and Dock - set the default browser to Google Chrome. I was then able to add the gmail account without error.

Select Security from the left sidebar and go to " Signing in to Google," select 2-Step Verification. Go to App Password and select app as Mail and device as macOS. Click on Generate.
