8 Οκτ 2024 · 3 – Research your Hotel. Have a look for a decent hotel, these can be big-time and money-savers. Hotels along the Underground (look for U11 on a map) are a bonus. The U11 runs straight to the event hall and runs all the way out to Gelsenkirchen. (The Underground is more reliable than the overground trains too).
31 Αυγ 2024 · SPIEL Essen takes place every year in October in the halls of Messe Essen. During this time you can walk through all halls and to all booths. Our tickets are valid for the whole opening time and to test the games costs nothing extra.
Expect crowds. Massive crowds. Either show up way early to be in the front of the line to get in the door or slightly late so you won't have to wait in the lines. Expect the best and most popular games to be sold out unless you're willing to fight to be first in and run to the game booth.
1 Οκτ 2024 · If you’re into tabletop gaming, the chances are you’ve of Essen Spiel. Held every year during the October schools’ half-term in Germany (so the week varies), it is the largest annual board game convention in the world.
Essen Spiel questions and tips. I know Essen Spiel starts at 10am tomorrow, but what time do people start lining up? 8? 9? Does access to the vendor halls open right away at 10? I’m assuming there’s a stampede to the hot booths much like GenCon? Is parking plentiful? And can you take games out to your car throughout the day?
Essen Spiel's two primary purposes are buying games and industry business meetings. Compared to other conventions, 'playing games' is a relatively small part of the event proper, although there tend to be satellite gaming sessions in nearby hotels. Spiel 2021 has announced some COVID measures.
From Essen main station you can reach the fair in only 5 minutes. You can take the subway U11 line directly to the West, South and East entrances. The East Entrance, which leads to Hall 6 via Halls 8 and 7, is located directly at the Messe Ost stop.
