The map-like ocean color is what does it for me, but there are also some other add-ons that are nice like thicker borders, white text, more/less opacity etc. aFPS and SHADER BOOST is pretty nice. Graphical Map Improvements is pretty good. TBARW EXTRA: User Interface. TBARW EXTRA: Darker Water.

The base version must also stay active for these to work. You can activate any of these mods in any combination, except for two:
Graphical Map Improvements. Check Out This Mod. Like the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum map mentioned earlier, this Graphical Map Improvements mod overhauls the map and GUI to present a fresher experience. Yet unlike Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, you will not feel like you’ve been sent back to the year 1500!
If anyone knows of any that i missed, please do tell (and please give a screenshot :D) My personal recommendations/what i use is A Revolutionary Borders Mod, A Rev. Font Mod - Bookworm (White) and Even Better Terra Incognita. A Simple Map Borders Mod by spyda47 and Kami.
