31 Μαρ 2022 · These days a POS tower is a temporary staging point for a pvp activity such as a wormhole eviction. The primary advantage of a POS is to shelter you while you have a red timer on you. For example, it’s common in null and wh space for orcas and porps to be aligned to a POS while boosting.
Many thanks for the IGB POS planner and for revamping it last time they redid POSes. Sad to see a piece of Eve history die but this is become a bonfire of the tools. Hopefully when they realise they can't maintain this API because a key dev has gone they'll remember that "API feature parity" is more complex than it seems.
25 Φεβ 2024 · Putting up a POS in lo-sec, w-space, or null-sec is a risky operation until the tower is fueled and online. The more items that you bring along before the POS tower shields are active, the more items that you risk losing if someone attacks you.
Your best bet for a POS like that is to EHP tank + a ton of jams. Your goal isn’t to really fight people off, it’s the raise the level of investment needed to knock over your shit.
Please be advised, the IGB POS Planner tool has been retired and will no longer be updated. However, because EVE players are awesome and resourcesful, some still expressed a desire to use the calculator, so I'll do my best to keep it up if my web host breaks it (which is what happened).
The "POS Builder" sheet gives you information for 1 item at a time. The "MULTI Builder" sheet lets you build a list. Select the Group, then the specific blueprint you want.
7 Οκτ 2023 · Control towers are the cornerstone of any POS setup. The choice of tower and size will determine how much fuel you use per month and how much PG/CPU you have for onlined (active) structures. Smaller towers will often have to leave modules anchored but offline until needed due to limited PG/CPU.
