16 Ιουν 2024 · Some gelcoats require more than one step for the gelcoat to harden properly. A serviceable repair is easy, but getting a showroom finish takes time and patience. Color matching is an art. For smaller repairs the gelcoat can be brushed on, but larger repairs, most manufacturers recommend application by spray gun.
Step 1. To prepare the damaged gel-coat area for the repair to be made, first clean the damaged area of debris and then hand sand the area where the repair will be made. Be sure to rough up the surface that the repair will be made on to permit a proper bond for the patch/repair to be accomplished.
