Lyric poetry, to those with a passing interest in the everchanging world of poetry, contains many of the features that one might relate to “poetry”. The poems are emotions, first-person confessions, and admissions, they contain flowery language and lovely turns of phrase.
Most poems have a structure in which each line contains a set amount of syllables; this is called METER. STANZA: Lines are also often grouped into stanza. The stanza in poetry is equivalent or equal to the paragraph in prose. Often the lines in a stanza will have a specific rhyme scheme.
