To improve accessibility to exercise oncology programs, we have designed the EXercise for Cancer to Enhance Living Well (EXCEL) study. Methods and analysis EXCEL is a hybrid effectiveness- implementation study.
EXCEL is a 12-week supervised virtual exercise program for individuals living in rural communities offering 2 group exercise sessions per week led by a trained professional. The program is designed to improve strength, cardio, balance, core stability, and mobility.
The toolkits will help users promote the EXCEL program and increase awareness of the importance of exercise for those living with and beyond cancer. Ultimately, our aim is for exercise to become part of standard cancer care, across Canada.
