23 Ιουλ 2021 · An explanation text tells your audience how something works or why something happens. Explanations detail and logically describe the stages in a process, such as the water cycle or how a steam engine works. Other examples could be how a law is made or why we blink when we sneeze.
What are explanation texts? Explanation texts are pieces of writing that explain something. They might tell you how or why something happens, or give information on how to do something.
A statement of fact is a declarative sentence that conveys information that can be verified as true or false. These statements are objective and based on observable phenomena, distinguishing them from opinions or beliefs, which are subjective.
An Explanation text is a piece of non-fiction writing explaining an action, process, or event in a detailed but simple way. It usually features numbered points, time connectives, pictures, diagrams, labels, and captions to help the reader understand and learn something new.
An explanation is a set of statements usually constructed to describe a set of facts that clarifies the causes, context, and consequences of those facts. It may establish rules or laws, and clarifies the existing rules or laws in relation to any objects or phenomena examined. [1]
Claims of Fact. A claim of fact makes an assertion about something that can be proved or disproved with factual evidence. However, keep in mind the basic quality of claims, that they have to be debatable, and offer an assertion about an issue. So a claim of fact for a logical argument cannot simply consist of a statistic or proven fact.
What is an explanation text? An explanation text is a piece of writing whose general purpose is to inform its reader of how something works, and perhaps even how the reader might carry out a process (in the case of a more simplistic form of explanation text: instructions).
