These Facebook "chain-posts" keep coming up in waves, usually with the baby-boomers, and I've yet to find a simple explanation for A) why it's bogus, and B) why it actually "seems" to work sometimes. Because it can be true -- you can start seeing posts again from friends you've not seen/heard from in a while, if they participate in the chain.
