Nick reconnects with his cousin Daisy Buchanan and her wealthy, arrogant husband Tom in the more fashionable East Egg. During a visit, Nick learns of Tom 's affair with Myrtle Wilson, a married woman.
The Great Gatsby: Chapter 2. In Chapter 2, Tom takes Nick to meet his mistress, Myrtle Wilson, who lives in the Valley of Ashes, a desolate area between New York City and Long Island. Myrtle is married to a working-class man who suspects her of infidelity.
