The acquisition of Family Tree Maker by Software Mackiev has been a disaster from start to finish. A once market-leading genealogy software package has not kept pace with the times - the last edition was released in 2019 - and the functionality is full of bugs.
Read customer reviews, check Better business bureau for user ratings and reviews and such. FYI Family Tree Maker has a 'F' rating (yes 'F' is still very bad - lots of complaints and reason for bad rating is due to them either not even answering people's complaints, and not resolving problems either.
I still have not received my 2019 Family Tree Maker Companion Guide (Spiral Bound). I have repeatedly chatted with them, but get the same answer. I have attached a sampling of those chats.
Beware of these "fake" support sites. I called the first one with an issue that I felt could not be explained with text, and the guy thought that upgrading the OS on my Mac would solve the FTM problem.
