This program provides a discussion of examples selected from among the watercolor renderings in the Index of American Design; the images are intended to illustrate the great variety of pottery made in America in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

12 Ιαν 2018 · This list of potters to watch in 2018 was compiled by looking at hundreds of ceramic artists from around the world, talking with industry educators, historians and makers, and combing the globe’s leading ceramic exhibitions for remarkable craftsman who are exhibiting an immense progression aesthetically and/or professionally.

The earliest examples of American art pottery often follow a Victorian aesthetic and feature highly detailed representational subjects such as portraits of Native Americans painted across a muted background.
