The fan coil units are exclusively designed for ventilating, heating, filtering and cooling purposes. Water or water/glycol solution (max. 50%) may be used as the medium.
Connect the main drain pipe to the flexible drain. Feed water from flexible drain hose to check the piping for leak-age. When the test is completed, connect the flexible drain hose to the drain connector on the indoor unit. Note: This Indoor Unit uses a drain pump for condensed water drainage.
The drain pipe can be PVC or steel. Connect the drain pipe to the unit. Pipe insulation is recommended to avoid condensation. The suggested slope of the drain pipe is at least 1/8" per foot, but local code will prevail. Refer to Figure 3 for typical piping installation. Suggested Condensate Trapping
An FCU uses water in heating or cooling coils to adjust the air temperature. Some FCUs are designed only to heat or cool the air, these are known as two-pipe fan coil units and will have one supply pipe and one return pipe (for either hot or cold water). More common are four-pipe fan coil units.
