Firehouse of FDNY Engine 7, Ladder 1, and Battalion 1 Jules Naudet captured American Airlines Flight 11 striking the North Tower. Filmmakers James Hanlon and the Naudet brothers were given permission by the New York City Fire Department to film a documentary about a probationary firefighter .
The brothers, residents of the United States since 1989 and citizens since 1999, were in New York City at the time of the September 11 attacks to film a documentary on members of the Engine 7, Ladder 1 firehouse in Lower Manhattan.

Engine 16 and Ladder 7 were both organized in 1865, the former on East 25th Street and the latter on East 28th. Since 1968, the two have resided together in a double firehouse on East 29th. One of the firemen, James, took on the job with a desire to help others and loves the constant change of pace.
