7 6 8 Stage 47: Compartment Inner and First Ladder Parts Type D x2 The compartment inner slots into place next to the steps. The two lugs indicated above are the fixing points. On the left-hand side, fit the lugs on the rear panel into the side of the compartment inner. Fit the right-hand edge under the lip on the step plate.
Engine 16 and Ladder 7 were both organized in 1865, the former on East 25th Street and the latter on East 28th. Since 1968, the two have resided together in a double firehouse on East 29th.

This the location of the famous Engine 7, Ladder 1, Battalion 1 of the New York City Fire Department. They were made famous on September 11th, 2001. They were part of a documentary about Antonios (Tony) Benetatos who was a probationary firefighter.

I spoke of the Miracle of FDNY Ladder 6 at Ground Zero. I wore a patch with the name of FDNY Ladder 7 Firefighter Richard Muldowney. His memory gave me strength to share my message of hope and courage.
