9 Φεβ 2024 · (*UPDATE: Feb 9, 2024) The Microsoft Windows version of the ATF eForm 4473 application has been updated and is now ready for download/use. A detailed breakdown of all form changes is provided below. The Revised Form will become mandatory for use on February 1, 2024 .
Any firearm, received by a FFL, that was privately made (not manufactured by another licensee) must now be recorded on the ATF Form 4473. “Privately Made Firearm (PMF)” has been added to item 1, Section A.

A Firearms Transaction Record, or ATF Form 4473, is a seven-page form prescribed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) required to be completed when a person proposes to purchase a firearm from a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder, such as a gun dealer.
An ATF Form 4473 is also known as the Firearms Transaction Record form. Licensed firearm dealers must complete this form when they may a lawful sale. Failure to complete this form is a violation of federal law.

As government agencies do, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) occasionally revises its forms to reflect changing laws, rules, and priorities.
18 Σεπ 2023 · The new form becomes mandatory on 2/1/2024, but the ATF recommends using the updated Forum 4473 now. The ATF encourages all federal firearms licensees (FFLs) to begin using the Revised Form immediately .
