This website provides Federal position classification, job grading, and qualifications information that is used to determine the pay plan, series, title, grade, and qualification requirements for most work in the Federal Government.
There are 343 job series that use the General Schedule (GS) payscale. Click on any job series for job descriptions, starting and maximum base pay rates, and a list of current job openings within the series.

Each occupational general schedule (GS) group is further subdivided into specific numerical codes called Job Series (for example: GS-856, Electronics Technician, GS-318, Secretary Series, etc.). The Wage Grade (WG) Trades and Labor Schedule offers an additional 36 occupational families; WG-2500 through WG-9000.
