Clavicle fractures take the same time to heal with or without surgery. Usually, the breaks heals in around 6-8 weeks but it is fairly common that it can take up to 3 months.
Clavicle fractures in children (younger than 8 years old) may heal in four or five weeks, and clavicle fractures in adolescents may take six to eight weeks. However, fractures in adults or teenagers who have stopped growing take 10 to 12 weeks to heal and may take longer.

Healing of the fracture may take 3 to 5 months. 0-2 weeks: Arm in a sling for comfort. Sling may be removed to perform exercises, and for bathing, dressing and at meal times. Perform pendular exercises as well as exercises for the hand, wrist and elbow to maintain mobility.
