The figure-of-eight should be used all day (including bath-time and bed-time); participants will be instructed not to remove the immobilisations. Patients will be instructed on how to properly wear and adjust the immobilisations should they slacken or be removed from the shoulders.
10 Δεκ 2022 · People who have a broken collarbone usually need to wear a sling. Bone healing usually takes 3 to 6 weeks for children and 6 to 12 weeks for adults. A newborn's collarbone that breaks during delivery typically heals in about two weeks with only pain control and careful handling of the baby.

With better pain relief, faster functional recovery, fewer union related complications and overall better patient compliance, we found broad arm sling to be a better modality of conservative management of middle third clavicle fractures, and thus strongly advocate its use over figure of 8 brace.

2 Οκτ 2017 · In this report and video, we present a figure-of-8 reconstruction technique to reduce and stabilize a posterior dislocation of the sternoclavicular joint using a gracilis autograft. Ultimately, this reconstruction technique can be performed in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner when appropriate surgical steps are followed.
The most common fractures of the clavicle are in the middle of the shaft of the bone, approximately halfway between the sternum and the AC joint. The most common way to treat the fractures in the middle is with immobilization with either a sling or a special bandage called a figure-of-8 splint.
