The Figure-8 Clavicle Splint is a comfortable splint to support the clavicle. The sliding buckle closure ensures a correct fit without slipping. Ideal for: Collarbone fractures and dislocations, postural support and soft tissue injuries.
3 Μαρ 2022 · A Schroeder-Thomas splint is constructed of aluminum rods (1/8-, 3/16-, or 3/8-inch diameter) available in 6-foot lengths or 12-foot coils. For small dogs or cats, regular coat-hanger wire has been used. An average-size dog (30 to 40 lb) requires the 3/8-inch diameter aluminum rod.
The rigid portion of the splint can either be premade (Figure 2) or custom molded to the limb. Molded splints may be better tolerated, as they are customized to the patient’s anatomy and therefore shift less and have lower risk for soft tissue injury.
