The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects (benefits and harms) of two commonly-used conservative interventions: the figure-of-eight bandage versus the arm sling as treatments of middle-third clavicle fractures.
The Ossur Figure 8 Clavicle Splint provides a combination of effective support with an easy to fit style that's comfortable to wear. It features full padding throughout the shoulders, and a prong buckle closure that a ensures correct fit without slippage.
The rigid portion of the splint can either be premade (Figure 2) or custom molded to the limb. Molded splints may be better tolerated, as they are customized to the patient’s anatomy and therefore shift less and have lower risk for soft tissue injury.
