Filson makes what some call the best 100% wool vest with their great Mackinaw wool vests but over the years they have changed the Filson vest sizing.
11 Αυγ 2015 · Our classic Western vest has signature notched lapels and four pockets. It's made with warm, naturally water-repellent, 100% virgin Mackinaw Wool. It's built for freedom of movement and comfortable layering, with wide armholes and military-grade melamine buttons for extra durability.
The wool itself is excellent, and I use my plain vest as mid layer a big part of the winter, it's warm and tough and really comfortable - for me it has been a good purchase. The western vest costs a lot more, and the difference is styling and pocket layout, so whether it's worth the price difference is very much a matter of opinion.
