If youhave lost touch with an old friend from AOL e-mail or AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), you can find her using AOL's online member directory. The member directory is searchable through your AOL account, and it provides details for any profiles.
With an online tool or the AOL Instant Messaging program, you can search AOL's member directory to find the person or screen name you are looking for. Go to the AOL People Connection site, peopleconnection.aol.com, in any web browser. Click on the "Chat" tab at the top of the page.
Type the full name or screen name of the profile you're trying to check into the "Search" box. Click the "Search" button. If only one profile matches the information you provided, that profile will load on screen. If multiple profiles match, you will be given a listing of search results.

Is there really no way to ever see any old aol content again? I have tried googling his username, and using the internet wayback machine to get to a olds 2005 homepage, but I have no idea how to get to the member profiles if that is even possible.
To do this, open the “Edit My Profile Info” window. In the Privacy section, uncheck “Allow People to Search for Me in AIM Using My Full Name.” Mail recipients can still see your email address even if you change your name.
