12 Μαΐ 2020 · The 2020 Fire Code of New York State outlines fire safety regulations and requirements to protect life and property from fire hazards. The 2020 Fire Code of New York State is based on the International Fire Code 2018 (IFC 2018) with amendments and additions.
Where more than one exit, or access to more than one exit, is required, the means of egress shall be configured such that the loss of any one exit, or access to one exit, shall not reduce the available capacity or width to less than 50 percent of the required capacity or width.
The Fire Code of New York State (FCNYS) establishes minimum requirements for fire prevention and fire protection systems using prescriptive and performance-related provisions. It is founded on broad-based principles that make possible the use of new materials and new system designs.
