Definition. A fire protection district is a special-purpose governmental unit formed to provide fire prevention and suppression services to a designated area, often funded by property taxes. These districts operate independently from other local government entities, allowing them to focus solely on fire protection and emergency response services.
In this study, the fire service will be discussed in terms of personnel, equipment, organizational structure, coordination-cooperation, standardization and scale, and a comparative analysis with international studies will be presented.
