mage is useless in pvp in sod. my fav is frostfire build, i do highest dps and have low mana cost, 100mana for frostfire bolt. i also beat deep fire on first 2 bosses and last bosses. No resources but I’m pretty sure with the burst meta playing fire or arcane is the way. With a a fortitude buff I’m above 2k HP now.

Mage is quite literally the worst caster in the game for any spec when it comes to PvP. Our strongest damage ability is between two 3 second casts (FFB/BFB), and both of them do less damage than a Hunter’s autoshot, even with crit.

28 Απρ 2024 · Two notable moments in PVP yesterday; for context, I’m a near BiS Fire Mage. My fire blast 1GCD, 280 mana hit a level 45 druid for 183 damage (with most PVP characters having 3/4/5/6k HP this will provide some insight into how ineffective mage DPS is currently).
