Instead of commonplace human smuggling, "Flashpoint" has a Big Mystery that needs unraveling. There are James-Bond sorts of geophysical "ovulators" that are hidden in the ground and can tell when something passing is more than two feet tall. There's very little ambiguity. We know right away which of the boys is strong and which is weak.

Flash Point: Directed by Wilson Yip. With Donnie Yen, Louis Koo, Collin Chou, Ray Lui. A hot-headed inspector takes on a small but powerful Vietnamese-Chinese gang, after a series of crimes and murder attempts committed and putting an undercover cop and his girlfriend in great danger.
Flashpoint doesn't break new ground in terms of it being a typical cops and gangsters flick, but it is as good as any of them. The fights are excellent and realistic. Flashpoint is highly recommended for HK movie fans.
Flashpoint: Directed by William Tannen. With Kris Kristofferson, Treat Williams, Rip Torn, Kevin Conway. Two U.S. border patrolmen find a buried 20+ year old jeep in the desert with a skeleton, rifle and $800,000. They keep the money. Suddenly, the FBI shows a lot of interest in the car.
Excellent show, with movie quality cinematography that shows the behind the scenes of the snipers. It takes from some of those SWAT reality TV shows and throws in the personal issues and struggles that no one gets to see.
Follows the lives and missions of the Toronto Police Department's Strategic Response Unit (SRU), a fictional police tactical unit who also uses psychological profiling to take down a variety of different criminals. The team tracks down the bomber who has been causing panic around town.
Detective Sergeant Ma Jun, known for dispensing his own brand of justice during arrests, teams up with an undercover cop, Wilson, to try and bring down three merciless Vietnamese brothers running a smuggling ring in the months before mainland China's takeover of Hong Kong. Jun pursues the gang tirelessly, sometimes ignoring police protocols.
